Entrepreneurship Development Cell - Siddhartha Degree College

The aim of Entrepreneurship Development Cell (EDC) at Siddartha Degree College(SDC) is to develop and strengthen entrepreneurial Skills to the students who are interested in starting their own ventures and new business. The college identifies the novel ideas and provides infrastructure and technical support to the students to transform into the new products and services for the betterment of the society.

The EDC provides all the support like planning, mentoring and time related execution support to all the aspirants for their start up ideas to convert it into real business facilities. Various seminars and workshop are organized to groom them by SDC Entrepreneurship Development cell. We encourage students to choose self-employment as their career option, by providing all the necessary training and support.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR AY 2023-24

The Entrepreneurship Development Cell in Siddartha is initiated to promote Entrepreneurship Culture among the students by organizing entrepreneurship awareness programs guest lectures by successful entrepreneurs, “face to face” student to entrepreneur’s programme, awareness camps, startup programmes.

Objective:

The objective of promoting entrepreneurship among the youth is to nurture a passion for self-employment. The primary objective of the EDC is to organize Entrepreneurship awareness programmes for students in order to bring awareness about Entrepreneurship. The EDC in college conducts a number of Skill development training programmes that can lead to self/wage employment. It takes initiatives to conduct research work and surveys for identifying entrepreneurial opportunities. It encourages innovative student projects for innovative product development. It organizes E-Weekend Programmes to stimulate the students to come up with new ideas that can grow up to startups. It arranges guest lectures by successful entrepreneurs and provides a platform for interaction between professional entrepreneurs and student entrepreneurs. It arranges visits to industries for prospective entrepreneurs.

Scope:

The Scope of the EDC is to generate awareness in students by organizing entrepreneurship awareness programmes. Boot camps, industrial visits. and panel discussions. The main aim of the EDC is to develop entrepreneurship capability in students by organizing workshops on business communications (Email Writing. CV Making, applying for a job). presentation skills (How to present). Idea Generation for Startups, and Technological developments. The EDC in college invites eminent resource persons like personality development trainers to develop the attitude of the students with their motivational and expert talk.

Activities

1) Procedure for events

Obtain nominations from student volunteers selection. Selection of student’s volunteers and shortlist

Circulate event registration forms to the students

Arrangement of Venue. Transportation and Hospitality to organize an event

Obtain feedback from participants. Submission of expenditure statement and activity report for event

2) Procedure for startups

Send an invitation to students to submit ideas for startups

Brain storming with Expert Committee

Evaluate the best ideas Selection of best ideas

Development of ideas into product or services

Registering the company in startup India

Frequency of Meetings: Two meetings will be conducted in a year or as and when required.
